She has served on the board of directors of the Rape Treatment Center at UCLA Medical Center and on the board of trustees of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. She is also a member of the board of governors of the Television Academy.

One of her most significant philanthropic endeavors was the creation of the Dayna and Steven Bochco Fellowship in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. The fellowship supports physicians and researchers studying childhood cancer and blood disorders.

The 5 feet 6 inches tall lady has also been a vocal advocate for gun control and was a founding member of Women Against Gun Violence. She has served on the board of directors of the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence and has been a longtime supporter of the Violence Policy Center.

In April 2018, Steven Bochco passed away at the age of 74 after a battle with leukemia. His wife, Dayna continues to honor his legacy through her philanthropic work and by preserving his contributions to television history.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times after her husband’s death, the tv executive spoke about the impact that Steven had on the television industry. “He was a pioneer in many ways,” she said. “He wasn’t afraid to push the envelope and tell stories that were uncomfortable, controversial, or different. He was always looking for what was fresh and new, and he wasn’t afraid to take risks.”
